Changes to conditions in Queensland's national parks, marine parks and forests.
  1. WILDFIRE - Mount Barney National Park closed

    Due to an ongoing wildfire within the park, Mount Barney National Park is closed until further notice. This closure includes Mt Maroon and Mt May. Affected parks: Mount Barney National Park.

  2. Temporary closure: Bora Ground toilet block, Goldsborough Valley camping area, Wooroonooran National Park

    The Bora Ground toilet block will be closed for floor painting from the morning of Thursday 21 September and may re-open the same day depending on drying time. Affected parks: Goldsborough Valley, Wooroonooran National Park; Wooroonooran National Park.

  3. Byfield NP - Soft Sand Conditions on Coastal Access Tracks

    Due to the prolonged dry period, soft sand conditions now exist on many of the coastal sand tracks in the national park. Affected parks: Byfield National Park, Conservation Park and State Forest.

  4. Yellow Patch campground temporary closure 7 to 14 October

    Yellow Patch campground will be closed from Saturday, 7th October, 2017, until 14th October, 2017 inclusive. Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service will be conducting a feral animal control program on Curtis Island during this period. The feral animal control program will consist of live firing operations involving ground shooting. Affected parks: Curtis Island National Park and Conservation Park.

  5. Closure due to wildfire

    The remote bushwalking area from Mt Steamer north to Mt Huntley is closed until Friday 29th September 2017, due to the potential for a recent wildfire to re-ignite over coming days. Affected parks: Main Range National Park.

  6. Wongai Camping Area (Beach Camp Zone 1) Closure

    Due to due to back-burning activities in the Eurong area, Wongai camping area (Beach camping zone 1) will be closed between 18 September 2017 and 25 September 2017. Affected parks: Fraser Island, Great Sandy National Park.

  7. Scrubby Creek crossing: Eliot Falls camping and day-use area, Heathlands Regional Park

    The entry into Eliot Falls camping area and day-use area requires crossing Scrubby Creek on the Old Telegraph Track (managed by Cook Shire Council). This crossing is only suitable for high clearance four-wheel drives with snorkels due to the current water depth and slippery and rough entry exit points. Affected parks: Jardine River National Park, Heathlands Resources Reserve and Jardine River Resources Reserve.

  8. K'gari (Fraser Island) Closures

    Due to fire activity in the Ungowa area the following camping areas and walking tracks will be closed between 29 August 2017 and 04 October2017: Affected parks: Fraser Island, Great Sandy National Park; Fraser Island Great Walk.

  9. Walkabout Creek Discovery Centre- Mountain Bike Skills Course 'Ultimate Flow Trail', 'Junior Skills Course' and 'Skills Bowl' CLOSED

    Due to track repairs the Mountain Bike Skills Course 'Ultimate Flow Trail', 'Junior Skills Course' and the 'Skills Bowl' are closed until further notice. The 'Pump Track' remains open for use. For further information please call the Walkabout Creek Discovery Centre ph: 3164 3600. Affected parks: D'Aguilar National Park.

  10. Visitors are advised not to swim in Kondalilla National Park

    Due to extended dry conditions, Picnic Creek, Skene Creek and Kondalilla Falls are no longer flowing and water levels in the rock pool and nearby creeks are very low. It is recommended that visitors do not swim in the Kondalilla Rock Pool and adjacent streams until further notice. Affected parks: Kondalilla National Park.
